MLC英文全稱（Multi Level Cell——MLC)即多層式儲存。
SLC架構是0和1兩個值，而MLC架構可以一次儲存4個以上的值，因此MLC架構的儲存密度較高，並且可以利用老舊的生産程備來提高産品的容量，無須額外投資生産設備，擁有成本與良率的優勢。 與SLC相比較，MLC生産成本較低，容量大。
